Dat leidt logischerwijze tot meer mogelijkheden om alcohol te drinken. Recent onderzoek heeft aangetoond dat <strong>61% van de drinkers<\/strong> in deze tijd van het jaar<strong> te veel drinkt<\/strong>.<sup>1<\/sup> Als je last hebt van incontinentie, vraag je je dus misschien af of <strong>bedplassen<\/strong> vaker voorkomt nadat je <strong>alcohol<\/strong> gedronken hebt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-de-kans-op-bedplassen-groter-nadat-je-alcohol-gedronken-hebt\">Is de kans op bedplassen groter nadat je alcohol gedronken hebt?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Kan alcohol drinken ongewenste neveneffecten hebben? En kan het bestaande <strong>blaasproblemen<\/strong> zoals <strong>incontinentie<\/strong> en bedplassen verergeren?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Er zijn verschillende redenen waarom de kans op bedplassen, ook <strong>enuresis nocturna<\/strong> genoemd, vergroot nadat je alcohol gedronken hebt.<sup>2<\/sup> Misschien denk je dat dit probleem zich vooral bij kinderen voordoet, maar in de realiteit <strong>plast 0,5 tot 2% van de volwassenen ongewild<\/strong> tijdens zijn slaap.<sup>3<\/sup> Het komt dus vaker voor dan je denkt! Alcohol kan de productie van <strong>ADH<\/strong> verminderen, waardoor je nieren actiever worden, meer vloeistof verwerken en dus meer urine produceren. Zo vergroot dus ook de kans op bedplassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten tweede be\u00efnvloedt alcohol de signalen van je hersenen die je vertellen dat je moet plassen. Overdag, wanneer je wakker bent, ga je gewoon naar de wc als je moet. Maar &#8217;s nachts, wanneer je slaapt, zijn de signalen zwakker. Nadat je alcohol gedronken hebt, vergroot de kans op bedplassen omdat alcohol invloed heeft op je vermogen om deze signalen op te merken.<sup>4<\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten slotte kan bedplassen problematischer worden na alcohol drinken omdat het de <strong>spieren irriteert<\/strong>. In onze blaaswand zit de <strong>detrusorspier.<\/strong> Die <strong>trekt samen<\/strong> om ons te doen plassen en <strong>ontspant<\/strong> om de blaas weer te laten vollopen. Alcohol <strong>irriteert<\/strong> deze spier en doet hem samentrekken,<sup>5<\/sup> waardoor we vervolgens in bed plassen. Bovendien heeft alcohol op korte en lange termijn nog andere gezondheidseffecten.
